Smooth Travels: Navigating Antalya's Gateway to Sun, Sea, and Ancient Wonders

Knowing your way around AYT can help ensure a smooth start or end to your holiday. Here’s what you need to know:

Flights & Airlines Antalya Airport is a key base for airlines like SunExpress and Corendon Airlines, and a major destination for Turkish Airlines, Pegasus Airlines, Freebird Airlines, and a vast number of European charter and scheduled airlines, particularly those from Germany, Russia, the UK, and Scandinavia. It offers extensive connections across Europe and within Turkey.

Terminal Information Antalya Airport has three main passenger terminals:

  • Terminal 1 (International): Handles a significant portion of international flights.
  • Domestic Terminal (İç Hatlar): Adjacent to Terminal 1 and connected, serving all flights within Turkey.
  • Terminal 2 (International): A separate terminal building, located a short distance from Terminal 1 and the Domestic Terminal (about 2-2.5 km). It also handles international flights, often used by different sets of airlines or during peak season. A shuttle, taxi, or public bus may be needed for transfers between T2 and the T1/Domestic complex. Always check which terminal your flight operates from.

Getting To and From AYT Airport

Several transport options are available to connect you to Antalya city center and the surrounding resort areas:

  • AntRay Tram: The tram line offers a convenient and affordable connection directly from both Terminal 1 and the Domestic Terminal to Antalya city center (stops include İsmetpaşa, for access to Kaleiçi, and Meydan, a key transfer point).
  • HAVAŞ Airport Shuttles: These shuttle buses provide services to Antalya city center (e.g., near Migros AVM, Antalya Bus Station - Otogar) and also to popular coastal resort towns further afield, such as Kemer, Side, Manavgat, and Alanya.
  • Public Buses (Belediye Otobüsleri):
    • Line 600: Operates frequently between the airport (all terminals) and the Antalya Bus Station (Otogar) via the city center.
    • Line 800: Connects the airport (all terminals) with the Lara and Konyaaltı beach areas.
• Taxi / Rideshare: Taxis are available 24/7 from ranks outside all terminals. Ensure the meter is used or agree on a fare for specific destinations. Ride-sharing options are also available.
  • Private Transfers: Especially popular for reaching resorts outside Antalya city, pre-booked private or shared transfers offer door-to-door service.
  • Car Rental: Numerous international and local car rental companies have desks in the arrivals areas of all terminals. Renting a car is a good option if you plan to explore the wider Antalya region.

Airport Services & Facilities

AYT is well-equipped to handle its large volume of passengers:

  • Lounges: Available in all terminals for eligible passengers (business class, status holders, or via payment/lounge pass programs).
  • Shopping: Extensive Duty-Free shopping areas, particularly in the International Terminals, offering a wide range of goods. You'll also find stores selling souvenirs, local products, fashion, and travel essentials.
  • Food & Drink: A wide selection of cafes, fast-food outlets, and restaurants catering to various tastes and budgets, available both airside and landside.
  • Accommodation: While there isn't a hotel directly integrated within the passenger terminals, the IC Hotels Airport is located very close by, offering convenient lodging. Many resort and city hotels are within a reasonable driving distance.
  • Other Services: Currency exchange offices, ATMs, prayer rooms (mescit), free Wi-Fi (usually for a limited duration), luggage wrapping, pharmacies, and information desks.

Practical Tips

  • Peak Season Crowds: Antalya Airport can get extremely busy, especially from May to October. Allow plenty of extra time for check-in, security, and immigration.
  • Terminal Verification: Always double-check which terminal your flight departs from or arrives at, especially if you have a connecting flight or are being picked up/dropped off.
  • Transfers to Resorts: If staying in a resort town outside Antalya city, pre-booking your transfer can often save time and hassle upon arrival.
